  2. Municipalities and other institutions, such as colleges and universities, use capital improvements plans as a roadmap for planning future infrastructure and facility work. These plans can incorporate additions or expansions, repairs or replacements and preventative maintenance items. The plans include estimated costs of each item, and are a great tool to assist with long-term budgeting as well as implementation of master plans.

  3. Michigan Public Act 33 of 2008 requires all townships with water or sewer infrastructure to maintain updated capital improvement plans. GFA can assist your community in updating your current capital improvement plan or should you not have one on file, creating a new capital improvement plan. Even if your itemized list has not changed, it is likely that the plan's cost estimates will require updating if they are more than a year or two old.
